The Kingdom of Yart bares the dubious distinction of being the most religiously intolerant state of the three members of the Tri-League Alliance. The people of Yart believe Hakima Ghunayya to be a prophet of God and venerate her as such.

The people of Yart follow the teachings of Ishmac and tolerate no other religions. Worship of gods and goddesses other than the God of Ishmac is considered heresy and punishable by death. This religious fanaticism has led the people of Yart on more than one holy war and has also solidified the kingdom as the greatest enemy among the members of the Tri-League Alliance of the Theocracy of the Eye (referred to in Yart by the name of The Great Demon).

Yarten law follows the traditions set down in the Morashi, holy book of Ishmac. Crimes are punished harshly. Rogues and thieves live a dangerous life in Yart, facing mutilation, imprisonment and even death for their crimes. Most Yarten citizens tend toward lawful good alignment and enjoy the security of an extremely low crime rate.

The Hakima rules Yart fairly, but with an iron hand for religious orthodoxy. Her main advisors head the two major religious schools of thought, the Ethoists and the Moralists. Other noble lords of Yart serve her as sworn vassals.

Yarten culture conforms to that of the Al-Qadim AD&D campaign setting. Characters originating in Yart should pick a kit from that setting.

Like other kingdoms on the peninsula Yart has rich opal mines, strong hardwood and rare wood resources, plentiful fish and pearl beds.

The armies of Yart consist of the following: 12,000 heavy cavalry, 24,000 light cavalry, 36,000 heavy infantry, 18,000 light infantry. The navy or Yart contains 312 warships, 400 small galleys, and 148 large galleys.

An elite force known as the Slaves of the True God guards the Hakima. This force consists of 1,000 Feris level 4-6. They are led by Caliph Umar al Médéa.
